Instructions
Brown the Butter: In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir constantly until golden brown with a nutty aroma (about 4-5 minutes). Let it cool for 5 minutes.
Mix the Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the browned butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
Add the eggs and vanilla extract, whisking until fully combined.
Combine the Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
Fold in the Chocolate chips: Stir in the chocolate chips.
Cover the dough and chill for 30-45 minutes (this helps develop flavor & texture).
Scoop & Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Scoop dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet (about 2 tbsp per cookie). If you want to make larger cookies, use an ice cream scoop but you will need to bake 15-17 minutes if making larger cookies.
Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden around the edges but slightly underbaked in the center. 15-17 minutes if larger cookies.
Right out of the oven, sprinkle flaky sea salt on top.
Let cookies cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
