Instructions
To Make the Base
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.
Spray a 13x9 inch baking pan with non-stick cooking oil or spray and set aside.
In a medium size bowl, combine dry cake mix, 1 egg, and melted butter and blend with an electric mixer, or in a stand mixer.
Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
Remove mixture from bowl and press it into bottom of pan.
To Make the Filling
Mix the softened cream cheese, eggs, Nutella, and vanilla in a medium-sized bowl until smooth.
Slowly add powdered sugar in ½ cup increments and beat until creamy and smooth.
Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
Using a spatula, spread the filling over the cake.
Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the edges are brown. It’s important to not over bake as you want the center to be a little gooey.
Allow the cake to cool before dusting lightly with powdered sugar.
Cut the cake into rectangular bars or square brownie shapes for multiple guests.
Optional: Serve with sliced strawberries on top.
