I love soft and chewy cookies; the ones that melt in your mouth when you take a bite. That is exactly how my Light and Easy: Homemade Sugar Cookies are! These cake-like cookies start with whole wheat flour, and I add healthy ingredients like nonfat Greek yogurt to cut down on fat and calories. To give these sugar cookies their signature flavor, I use 1/2 stick of butter and sweet vanilla extract. These Light and Easy: Homemade Sugar Cookies are so decadent, you won’t know they’re better for you!

Why is Greek Yogurt Healthy?

This unique cookie recipe calls for Greek yogurt in the dough. Omitting some of the butter from a traditional cookie recipe and replacing it with Greek yogurt allows for the cookies to still have a butter flavor, but have way less fat and calories. Greek yogurt is an excellent source of protein, vitamin B12, calcium, and probiotics. I love to add this stuff to all kinds of dishes!
